The 4 mm top wear layer made of genuine hardwood highlights the natural beauty of wood. True to Mirage's reputation and commitment to quality and sustainability, the hardwood used for TruBalance floorboards is processed from responsibly harvested wood by a proudly Canadian manufacturer. TruBalance is available in highly durable wood species: White Oak, Red Oak, Maple, Hickory, and Walnut.
The core layer, measuring 13 mm in thickness, is crafted from locally sourced SPF, a fast-growing species selected for its sustainability and rapid resource renewal. Comprising multiple thin strips of wood arranged side by side, this layer is sandwiched between the 4 mm top sawn hardwood lamella layer and the high-quality 2 mm wood backing veneer. This construction effectively reinforces the floorboard structure, minimizing movement as humidity levels fluctuate.
Moreover, the core layer *predominantly consists of quarter sawn wood, exhibiting a consistent, straight grain oriented perpendicular to the direction of the wood fibres in the top hardwood lamella. This configuration enhances overall stability and prevents warping, ensuring a durable and long-lasting flooring solution.
The substantial 3/4” thickness of TruBalance floorboards provides excellent stability, allowing for the creation of wider boards and offering a myriad of floor styling possibilities.
