Boa-Franc receives highest honor at the Grands Prix québécois de la qualité awards

St-Georges, November 8, 2012 - Boa-Franc, manufacturer of superior quality prefinished hardwood floors, has received the highest award bestowed by the Quebec government on businesses and organizations that successfully apply best business practices.

The Grand Prix Award was presented to Boa-Franc in the Large Manufacturing Company or Subsidiary category at the Grands Prix québécois de la qualité awards ceremony, held at Palais des congrès de Montréal on Thursday, November 8. This award is on par with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the United States.

In addition to being recognized for its excellent management and outstanding results, the winning company stood out for the quality of its planning and internal processes during the judging panel's review. Boa-Franc executive vice president and CEO Jacques Beaudoin accepted the prestigious award on behalf of president Pierre Thabet and the company's 260 employees: We accept this award on behalf of all our clients, suppliers, and employees, who share our dedication and understand the importance our company has placed on quality since its founding 30 years ago.

The company has garnered many distinctions for quality in recent years. Retailers and other flooring professionals have voted it number one for quality more than 16 times in surveys conducted by trade magazines.

Located in Saint-Georges, Boa-Franc designs and manufactures Mirage hardwood floors, which are distributed in Canada and the United States. The company will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary in 2013.

The Grands Prix québécois de la qualité (GPQQ) awards are the highest honors bestowed by the Quebec government on top performing companies and organizations. Initiated in 1998, the GPQQ awards are on par with international awards such as the Deming Prize (Japan), the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (United States), and the EFQM Excellence Award for their rigorous standards. The GPQQ awards are administered jointly by Ministère des Finances et de l'Économie and Mouvement québécois de la qualité.
